Leonardo Munisteri and his wife Francesca Messina had eight children, all born in Montallegro, Agrigento, Sicily, Italy:
  1) Giuseppe Munsteri, born February 8, 1839. He, being the first born son, was named after his father's father, as per Italian custom. He died at the age of nine on July 16, 1848.
  2) Domenica Munisteri, born June 2, 1841. She, being the first born daughter, was named after her father's mother, as per Italian custom. At the age of 13, she married Salvadore Campisi. After Salvadore died at the age of 23, Domenica married Ferdinando Marchese. More about those three people and their children is in this chart.
(For unknown reasons, the second born son and second born daughter to the couple were not named after Francesca's parents Matteo and Aloisia.)
  3) Vincenzo Munisteri, born February 13, 1844. He died at the age of 10 months on December twelfth.
  4) Another Vincenzo Munisteri, born May 1, 1846. He died at the age of three on May 25, 1849.
  5) Another Giuseppe Munisteri, born April 1, 1849. The first name was re-used because the first Giuseppe had died the previous year. It was the Italian custom to have the first born son named after the father's father. But when that son died as a child, usually after that death, the next born son was given the same name.
  6) Guiseppa Munisteri, born September 17, 1851. She died at the age of one on January 17, 1853.
  7) A second Giuseppa Munisteri, born February 26, 1854.
  8) Francesca Munisteri, born December 18, 1858. She died the next day.
