Note: Notes for Vincenza Marsala: Vincenza's 1871 or 1872 birth was recorded in a civil birth registration book, but the birth registry books from Cattolica Eraclea for 1870 through 1872 were lost or damaged by water.
In accordance with the usual Italian naming practices, she, the firstborn daughter, was named after her father's mother, Vincenza.
Italian women of the time kept their full birth name for life. They did not take on their husband's last name when they got married.
Vincenza Marsala and Rosalia Marsala, both included in this genealogy chart, were sisters. They married brothers Pietro Munisteri and Luigi Marchese, respectively. About six or seven years after Vincenza married Pietro Munisteri, he changed his last name to Marchese.
