The 1920 U.S. census had an effective date of January first. The Olson home was enumerated January twenty second. The census page shows Louis O. Olson, 32; his wife Florence O., 27; a son with an unreadable name and age; and one year old Lucile E., which must be the actual first name and middle initial of the daughter listed as Eleanor in the 1930 census. The family lived in Iola, Waupaca, Wisconsin. It was written that Louis' parents were born in Denmark.
The 1930 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Olson home was enumerated April third. The census page shows the misspelled name "Lewis", 42; Florence, 37; and children Franklin, 12; Eleanor, 11; and Gerald, age eight. They lived at 224 S. 2nd Street, in Delavan, Walworth, Wisconsin. Louis was a furnace installer. He had been born in Wisconsin, and his parents were born in Denmark. Florence was born in Wisconsin, as was her mother. Florence's father was born in Switzerland. Louis and Florence had been married for 13 years. The family rented their residence at the cost of $25 per month. The family owned a radio.
