Note: Notes for Francois Joseph Lardinois: Francois, his wife Sylvie, and their first four children immigrated to the United States in July of 1857, at the port of Green Bay, in Brown County, Wisconsin. In the U.S., he sometimes went by Frank. On August 18, 1857, Francois/Frank filed a Declaration of Intention (stating his intention to become a U.S. citizen) at the Court House in Brown County, Wisconsin. He was a soldier in the U.S. Civil War. He was a private in Company H of the 34th Wisconsin Infantry Regiment. He enlisted November 24, 1862, and was discharged September 8, 1863. Frank is listed in the 1860, 1870, 1880, and 1900 U.S. censuses, and the 1865, 1875, 1885, and 1895 Wisconsin state censuses. In every one, his residence was in Red River, Kewaunee, Wisconsin. His occupation was a farmer. Frank and Sylvie had 10 children. The first four were born in Brabant, Belgium. The last six were born in Red River, Kewaunee, Wisconsin.
