After the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, that location is now the village of Flintage, in Guldborgsund Municipality, in Region Zealand, in eastern Denmark. The effective date of the 1840 Danish census was February first. Listed were Lars Hansen, 53, a farmer; his wife Karen Olsdatter, 51; their unmarried son Ole Larsen, 25; daughter Karen Larsdatter, 22; daughter Dorthe Larsdatter, 20; daughter Bodil Larsdatter, 14; and son Hans Larsen, 12. They still lived in Flintinge. The effective date of the 1845 Danish census was February first. Listed were Lars Hansen, 58, a farmer; his wife Karen Olsdatter, 50; their unmarried son Ole Larsen, 28; daughter Dorthe Larsdatter, 24; son Hans Larsen, 18; and two foster children; Ane Kristensdatter, 5; and Bodil Rasmusdatter, also five years of age. They lived in the Flintinge school district in Toreby Sogn, (Toreby Parish). The effective date of the 1850 Danish census was February first. Listed were Lars Hansen, a 62-year-old widowed farmer; his son Hans Larsen, 22; the two foster children from 1845, Ane, 10, and Bodil, 11; and an unrelated 29-year-old woman. They lived in the town of Toreby, in Toreby Parish, which was a short walk away from where they lived in 1845. Either that or their location was misclassified. They had all been born in Toreby Parish. The effective date of the 1855 Danish census was February first. Lars Hansen was listed as a 67-year-old widowed farmer. He was still living in Toreby Parish. The effective date of the 1860 Danish census was February first. Lars Hansen was a 72-year-old widower. He was living in Flintinge town in Toreby Parish. He was also listed as an "Aftægtsmand", which meant a man who was cared for by people who took over his farm or house. The 1870 census for Toreby Parish isn't available online. It may not exist at all.
