Note: Notes for Raymond George Jansen: He was usually known as Ray. He was the adoptive father of the infant girl he helped to name as Linda Rae Jansen in 1943. The name "Rae" was a nod to his own nickname. The 1940 U.S. census had an effective date of April first. The Jansen home wasn't enumerated until May eighteenth. The census page shows Ray G., 35, and his wife Audrey M., 30, living in Whitefish Bay, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1935 the couple had been living in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha, Wisconsin. Both had college educations. Ray was a teacher.
