Note: Notes for William Mulcahy: William, his wife, and their five children left their home in the Townland of Caherlag in County Cork, Ireland in early 1825. They boarded the ship John Barry, which departed Ireland on May 23rd. The ship arrived in Quebec, Canada on July 6th. The passenger list shows William Mulcahy, age 39, a farmer; his wife Mary, 38; and their children David, 17; Michael, 15; Patrick, 12; Elizabeth, 8; and William, age four. The 1861 Census of Canada shows William, 85, and Mary, 75, living in the Township of Emily, in Victoria County, Quebec. Their son David and his wife, listed as Nancy, were living with or next to them.
