Notes
a. Note:   1840 Hickman County, Tenn. census: George L Davis: males 2(under 5) 1(20-29) females: 1(under 5) 1(20-29). George may have had a male child that died before 1850. George Lucas Davis served in the Third Arkansas Union Cavalry, Company K, during the Civil War. Per information from Nelsie Ramsey, George is buried in Watts Cemetery, 7 miles East of Marshall in Searcy County, Arkansas. She says the cemetery is in the middle of a cow paster, but is fenced and well taken care of. George L. Davis tombstone shows he served in Company K, 3rd Ark Inf. His pension records show he served in Company K, 3rd Arkansas Cavalry. 1880 census lists 3 people living with Luke Davis as his brother and sisters. I do not believe they were George Luke Davis's siblings. Possible that they were Minerva Caroline (Atkinson) Davis's siblings, their names: John Davis age 18 born Ark., Eldora Davis age 14 born Ark., and Cordelia Davis age 12 born Ark. There is also a George Manuel age 19 living with Luke Davis, possible a brother of Luke's son's, Richard, wife Sarah Elizabeth Manuel.
