  Mrs. John W. Hopson
  Mrs. John Hopson passed away at her home south of Bedford just after midnight, Thursday, May 8, at the age of 55 years, 11 months and 17 days. The funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. R. Talley. Interment was made in the Bedford cemetery.
  Tessa [Ann] Hopson was born May 24, 1874, at Lockhaven, Penn. She moved with her parents to New York as a child and then back to Pennsylvania. After the death of her father and mother, when she was about nine years of age, she came to Creston and lived with her grandparents, then afterwards with an aunt and uncle in Omaha. She was united in marriage to J. [ohn] W. [esley] Hopson, Feb. 18th, 1902, and since their marriage they have lived near Bedford. There are left to mourn her going, besides the husband, nine children, Carl W. [illiam], Mrs. Ruth Park, Mrs. Flavia Davidson, Humphrey, Frank, Marjorie, Lydia, Oliver and Lucille. One child died in infancy. There are five grandchildren, also one sister living at Escatada, Oregon. Mrs. Emma Hopson, the aunt with whom she made her home before her marriage, lives at Long Beach, Calif. Mrs. Hopson joined the Methodist church when living at Creston, later transferring her membership to Omaha.
