Angelo Michael Motta, 84, a longtime Liberty MO resident, passedpeacefully on March 5, 2016, with family at his side. Visitationwill be held from 5:30 pm to 8 pm, with Rosary at 7:30 pm, onFriday, March 11, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Liberty. Massof Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 12,at St. James Catholic Church, Liberty. Burial with militaryhonors will follow in Glenridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,memorial contributions are suggested to St. James CatholicChurch or to Our Lady of Mercy Country Home. Angelo was bornNovember 17, 1931, in St. Louis, MO, the second of four sons ofAngelo Ambrose and Mary (Bonali) Motta. Along with his parents,Angelo was preceded in death by a brother, John. Angelo grew upin the St. Louis area and served in the U.S. Army in the Koreanconflict. His career with the railroad spanned 43 years, firstwith the Wabash RR and retiring from Norfolk-Southern. He alsoworked in law enforcement for more than 30 years, includingserving as Chief of Police in Pine Lawn, MO, and many years withthe Clay County Sheriff's Department. Angelo was a member of St.James Catholic Church and was a fourth degree Knight ofColumbus. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marge(Schmitt) Motta; children, Dino Motta (Robin), Michael Motta(Sharon), Christina Graskemper (Ray), Anthony Motta (Janice),Joseph Motta (Sheila) and Angela Merry (Joe); brothers, RichardMotta and Frank Motta (Tam); 15 grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
