Continued: Bill was born at the family home close to what was called the "Big Ditch Road" near the settlement of Pike Slough in Butler County, Missouri. The drainage canal, or "Big Ditch", is now called the Main Ditch. At its closest point to Pike Slough, the Main Ditch which runs North and South, is East of the intersection of Hwy 142 and Hwy 158.
Bill died of complications caused by lung cancer at home: #4 Laurel Wood Court, Creve Coeur, St. Louis County, Missouri. His family was with him.
