a. Note:   d County, Virginia, near Walkers Church Road and Operated a blacksmith shop there. He taught all of his sons the blacksmith trade. Their Occupations, according to the 1850 census, was that of blacksmith and wheelrights. As with so many other families, the war between the states took a terrible toll on this family. A number of Thomas Price's sons and grandsons served in the Confederate Army. The fact that times were so difficult is evidenced by the deeds showing that Thomas Price's farm was sold three times on the Prince Edward County Courthouse steps between 1873 and 1889 but was kept in the family only by personal bonds of his three sons, Charles R., William A. and Alexander P. Price. Much of the Price properties were lost through bankruptcy and forced sales during the reconstruction years. This was due to the fact that everything was stripped from the land with no slaves left to work the land and no money for operating expenses.
Note:   In 1849, Thomas J. Price bought twelve acres of land near Olive Branch Church in Prince Edwar
