Note: Birth place now part of Oglethorpe County, Georgia Occupation: 1850 Census-He was received his law degree from the University of Virginia. He was a delegate to the Secession Convention in Milledgeville, Georgia in January of 1861. He was a Judge & Solicitor for Butts County, Georgia. He attended the Secession Convention of 1861. He was a Judge in Butts Co., Georgia 1881-1882. Military: He was a Captain of Company A in the 30th Georgia Regiment (Walker's Division, Cheatham's Corp., Western Army) and was captured in Nashville, TN 12/16/1864 while commanding the 30th Regiment. He was a POW at Johnson Island, Lake Erie. He was released at Sandusky, Ohio 7/25/1866. He received the "Southern Cross of Honor."
