Note: , Louisiana. Died September 20,1863 at the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia.
He was killed in the battle of Chickamauga, Walker County, Georgia. in a charge on the enemy on the 20th of Sept. 1863 being 29 years, 2 months and 8 days old. The fatal ball entered his left side a little below the ribs and ranged horizontally through his body. He was supposed to have survived a short time after he was shot but the enemy being in possesion of the battle field no relief could be afforded him. He was found dead and buried where he died. He volunteered at the early stsge of the war and entered the service on the 19th of Sept. 1861 and never returned home. He was a brave and faithful soldier, the prevailing influence of the camp had no effect to lower those hightone sentiments and principles with which he entered the army. He was respected and beloved by all his comrades in arms.
