Note: r 1923, where she had gone a few weeks previous to visit relatives, at the advanced age of 73 years 4 months and 29 days. She was the daughter of Joseph W. and Martha Woods, and was born in Washington County, Oregon in 1850 and was married to Francis M. Powers in 1864, and came to Klickitat County in 1880, where they established their home and reared their family. Eight children were born to them, they are Emma A. Adams and Clarence Powers of Portland, Oregon, Dolph B. Powers of Deer Park, Wn. A. L. Powers and Mrs Agnes Runyan of Roosevelt, three of the children having passed from this life, also her husband who died in 1915. Mrs Powers was a woman who had endeared herself to the community and was esteemed and her death brings sorrow to both old and young. The remains were brought from Portland Wednesday and the funeral services were held from the Cleveland church Thursday, at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. M. H. Staines, pastor of the M. E. Church at Bickleton and the remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband. Deceased is also survived by A. O. Woods of Goldendale, Sherman Woods of Roosevelt, Brothers and sister, Mrs Mary E. Powers of Antelope, Oregon.
