Note: Obituary Feb 20, 1915 After a long illness during the later part of which he was helpless, M F Eaton, a well known farmer, living five miles north of Wanatah, died at ten o'clock last night. He had been in poor health for several years and some time ago was paralyzed from the hips down and was almost helpless from that time on until the end. He was 66 years of age. Mr Eaton had been a farmer all his life and had been successful. His father was Louis Eaton who, years ago, was one of the best known men in this section of the state. The deceased was a member of the Knights of Pythias and of the Christian church. He is survived by his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Elizabeth Hubbard daughter of Thomas Hubbard, member of a prominent La Porte county family. He leaves two sons, Edward and ralph Eaton, who are both farmers, and three daughters, Misses Ella and Florence Eaton, who are school teachers, and a married daughter, Flora, who lives in Wisconsin. There are two surviving brothers, Thomas Eatonof Whiting, IN., and Albert Eaton, postmaster at Wanatah. Three isiters also survive. Mrs Maggie Gamberlingof Valparaiso, Mrs Nancy Harris of New Springs, Ned., and Mrs Nellie Cites of Bigelow, this county. The funeral will be held at the residence at ten o'clock Monday morning with Rev Mr Jenkins officiating, and the intermentwill be at Union Mills.
