She is survived by her son, Dale McHargue and wife Cindy of Spokane; grandchildren, Bret Harting and wife Shari of Dayton, WA, Stefanie Walker and husband Robert of Dayton, WA, Amber McEwen of Walla Walla, WA; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam McHargue; daughter, Darlene McEwen; and brother, Jack Campbell. Mrs. McHargue was born October 25, 1926 in Spokane, and moved with her family at age 13 to Dayton. A long-time Dayton resident, she owned and operated Jean's Variety there (1959-85). Mrs. McHargue enjoyed boating and camping along the Snake River with family and friends. She also enjoyed huckleberrying and mushrooming in the mountains, and playing pinochle. She returned to Spokane in 2005. At her request no services will be held.
