MAUD EVELYN TUNER
Maud Evelyn Turner, 72 died in her home at 268 Wabash, Eureka Thursday morning following a long illness. She was born December 30, 1884 in Belvedere, Illinois and had lived in this area for the past 57 years. She was the wife of late Justin E. Turner, and lived in Samoa for many years, where she was a past president of Samoa PTA and a member of the Somoa Woman's club. In Eureka, she was a member of First Methodist church and active in the Women's Society of Christian Service. Survivors include sons, J.L. Turner and Frank M. Turner, both of Eureka; grandchildren, Vadene Early, Seattle; Joyce Sherwood, Eureka; Gary Turner, Hyampom, Calif., Sandra Turner, Eureka; Lee Turner, Eureka; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held saturday 11 a.m. in the Pierce Mortuary with the Rev. Oscar E. Link officiating. Pallbearers will be William F Kennedy, Charles Wiemars, E.Z. Prentice, Jack Dickinson, W.L. Fredricks and Watt Hibler.
