Continued: Marion F. Curtis Marion F. Curtis (nee Higgins), 91, a lifelong resident of Elyria, died Friday at the Elyria United Methodist Village after a short illness. A 1931 Elyria High School graduate, she was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, playing cards and playing the organ. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Elyria, a former member of the Elyria Women’s Club and volunteered for many years at the American Red Cross. Survivors include sons Thomas R. of Elyria and Richard A. of Columbus; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Hysell of Elyria; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert H., in 1994; a great-grandson, Connor James Curtis; her parents, Ellis and Ethel (nee Esker) Higgins; a sister, Eleanor Hintz; and a brother, Donald Higgins. Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Busch-Curtis-Scheuffler Family Chapel, 114 Second St., Elyria, where a prayer service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 320 Middle Ave., Elyria. The Rev. Joseph Weigand, pastor, will be the celebrant.
