a. Note:   Married Name:<_MARNM> Daggett An 18 year old Esther Atwater moved from the 'big city' of New Haven to the 'Northeast' of Dutchess County in 1754. She was the fifth child in the family and seven more would be born to her parents. She met and fell in love and married the 24 year old Mayhew Daggett soon after arriving at her new home, and he may have been an apprentice for her father. Her life was full of people. She gave birth to 11 children herself and there were many family connections with her siblings over the years. It's not clear when she died, it could have been anytime in a 20 year span, but more likely it was before her husband remarried in 1789.
