Note:   Elias, m Mrs. Esther RANDALL, b of Stonington, Apr 28, 1757, by Rev Joseph Fish From Palmer Groups: John Melvin of Charlestown and Concord, Mass., and His Descendants, Gathered and Arranged for Mr. Lowell Mason Palmer of New York, by Miss Emily Wilder Leavitt, Boston, 1901-1905. 460. ELIAS PALMER, son of Elias (Ichabod, Gershom, Walter) and Mary (Holmes) Palmer, was born in Stonington, March 5,1735. In 1727 Nathaniel Palmer sold to Elias Palmer, for one hundred pounds, eight acres of land at Palmer's Neck. (Land records, Vol. 7, p. 157.) The same year, Elias Palmer sold for the same sum, nineteen and one-half acres of land which "my late deceased father, Elias Palmer, bought in partnership with the said Nathaniel Palmer of Christopher Palmer". (Ibid, Vol. 7, p. 158.) " He sold his property in Stonington about the year 1776, and removed to Colchester, Connecticut." (N. F. Palmer.) Elias Palmer married, April 28, 1757, Esther Randall, daughter of Captain John and Elizabeth (Cottrell) Randall, who was born June 17, 1735, in Stonington and was a step sister of Elias, as his mother had married as her second husband, Lieutenant John Randall. They had children: 1003. i. Mary, born January 21, 1758. 1064. ii. Betsey, born November 26, 1759. 1065. iii. Elias, junior, born December 4, 1762. 1066. iv. Esther, born March 24, 1764. 1067. v. John, born March 6, 1766. 1068. vi. Marvin, born May 25, 1768. 1069. vii. Paul, born September 23, 1770. 1070. viii. Thomas Randall, born April 18, 1776. 1071. ix. Joshua, born July 20, 1778.
