Note: Johanna never married. She kept house for her father after her mother died. Lived with sister Louise Grosze in 1900 census, Collinsville, Ill.. She went to Indianapolis to help her sister Maria Schurdel. She died of burns when her clothes caught on fire as she was lighting a gasoline stove. She is apparently listed as John in the 1880 census.
