Kearney Daily Hub Tuesday, July 16, 1940 Rites for Carl Henry Labs of Amherst Thursday Funeral services for Carl Henry Labs, 58, who died shortly after midnight this morning at a Kearney hospital., will be Thursday at 2 p.m. At the Emanuel church northwest of Amherst with the Rev. E.W. Scheck officiating. Burial will be in Watertown cemetery. The Anderson funeral home made the arrangements. Mr. Labs, who had lived in Buffalo county 52 years, had been ill at the hospital here since July 5. He had farmed in the Amherst vicinity until 1934 when he retired because of ill health and moved to town. He is survived by his wife, five children, Mrs. William Mueller, Mrs. Richard Schnacker, Mrs. Walter Axmann, Wanda and Gerhardt, all of near Amherst; three grandchildren, his father, Fred; six sisters and brothers, Mrs. Minnie Anthes of Plattsmouth, Mrs. Paul Maul and Mrs. Marie Scharfogel of Santa Cruz, Calif., Mrs. Anna Grimes of Norton, Kan., Gus and Walter Labs of Amherst. Kearney Daily Hub Friday, July 19, 1940 Page: 3 CARL LABS PALLBEARERS Pallbearers for the funeral of Carl Henry Labs Thursday at the Emauel church northwest of Amherst were Henry Fisher, Roy Curd, Emil Sohrweid, John Schnacker, Ernest Krueger and Roy Stubbs. The Rev. E.W. Scheck conducted the rites.
