  Marriage record, Anglican Church Records (supplied by Eleanor Blois Hall): I do hereby certify that it hath been proved before me by the undersigned witnesses that Charles Dobson of New Carlisle in the county of Bonaventure in the inferior District of Gaspe, farmer, were married on the tenth day of September in the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen to Mary/Marie/Maria Charlotte, daughter of Samuel Chatterton also of New Carlisle in the aforesaid county and district, farmer, by Farquhar McRae, Esquire, then being one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for said district. The above entry made in conformity to the Provincial Statue Second William, the Fourth Chapter fifty-first. At New Carlisle this fourth day of April one thousand eight hundred and thirty-six, and witnesses declare that she cannot sign her name. John G. Thompson, Provincial Judge.
