"Aunt Lil" per my mother. Info. on her death from my mother. Lil was a nurse. They moved to Montreal & divorced her husband who ended up marrying a very young girl.
Letter to Lil's sister, Rena Dobson: Montreal, July 12, 1940 - Dear Lady, In answer to your letter received this very minutes. Regarding information concerning Mrs. St. Denis all I have to say that Mr. Knox president of the Club told me to take care of everything otherwise the City would have been in the necessity of burying her. The telegram you send Mr. Lagace was brought to me with the understanding that he could not do anything as he had no money to send the body home. Then I made arrangement to give her a decent burial which she deserves as she gave us the best service a woman could do. Regarding her sickness I send her home on Friday morning and I went to see her everyday but on Monday Father King had her send to St. Mary's Hospital and she died on Thursday morning about 2 o'clock. About the furniture you better ask Mr. Lagace as he pretends that everything belongs to him and as it was none of my business I didn't trouble myself about it as I had enough to do with the burial. As for Mrs. St. Denis asking me to attend to her burial why the poor old soul was delirious from Sunday till she died. Give my sympathy to the family, Mr. O. Turdel Manager, 5238 Park Avenue, Montreal. P.S. Will be glad to give you other information if it is in my power.
