  Obituary was in the Apr. 27, 1864 issue of the Canadian Advocate: Eleanor Kemp, the subject of this memoir, was born in the year 1788; she experienced religion in 1828, & joined the M.E. Church. Sister Kemp, from her conversion always led a Christian life. In her old age she was zealously engaged in advancing the religion which she professed--the religion of Jesus Christ. She affectionately entreated her children & grandchildren to be firm in the cause of the Redeemer, that she might meet them in eternal bliss. In her last moment, said God was she precious to her soul. Communicated. Percy 1864.
  Her tombstone in the Warworth Cemetery reads: Eleanor Marton, wife of the above [John Kemp], who died Jan. 9, 1864, ae 76 yrs., 6 mo., 23 dys. [This makes her birthdate June 17, 1787.]
