The detective caught Vorse in a furnished room at 236 East Fifty-first Street, where, according to police, he had lived with the girl for nearly two weeks. He walked into a trap set by the police. The prisoner was turned over to Special Agent Baker, who is assigned to the suppression of white slave traffic in this city by the Federal Department of Justice. The police first heard of Miss Van Saders from Mrs. William Cronan of 302 East Fifty-second Street, who had talked to the girl in the street. According to the police, the girl met Vorse at Ashbury Park, and he persuaded her to come to New York. She complained of harsh treatment to Mrs. Cronan. Her father, Samuel Van Saders, accompanied the detective when the arrest was made. http://trees.ancestry.ca/pt/person.aspx?pid=-2037168827&tid=861443&ssrc= She lived in Illinois according to my Mother & had two daughters, one named Ruth. 1940 US Census Ward 2, Quincy, Quincy Township, Adams, Illinois (transription) Rudolph Matchole Head M 45 New Jersey Ida Matchole Wife F 42 New Jersey Ruth Matchole Daughter F 18 New Jersey Dorothy Matchole Daughter F 16 Colorado Eugene Matchole Son M 9 Michigan Ronald Matchole Son M 6 New Jersey Michial Matchole Son M 1 Illinois Source: Deb DeKoff -My dad was Michael Richard Matchok, son of Ida May Van Saders, and Rudie. I recall seeing grandma fall as she came out of the bathroom. Rushing to the table, I interrupted conversation. I was told to wait. I waited as patiently as I could before finally bursting out,"Grandma fell." That was the last time I saw her. I was told that she was going to stay w/Dot for awhile. Then, I heard she had died.
