Aug. 3, 1899 issue: A Young Couple Wedded On Wed. evening of last week, Mr. Bidwell Kemp took unto himself a wife in the person of Miss Emma Green, daughter of Mr. William Green, Campbellford. The sacred ceremony, which was solemized at the residence of the bride's parents, was performed by the Rev. W.H. Peake in the presence of a few select friends of the families. After a sumptuous tea, the evening was pleasantly spent in music & conversation.   Source: Carol [Tanner] Jones, Kitchener- In 1908 they moved to Springbrook. Bidwell, known to friends & business associates as "B.W." owned a harness shop in Spring Brook, Ontario. In 1915, with the automobile gaining popularity, he realized that his trade was becoming obsolete, so he moved his family to Ottawa, Ontario. He had also considered Peterborough but decided that Ottawa offered better business prospects. He eventually established a tire vulcanising business and garage, which became very successful. He took great pride in his reputation as a fair and honest businessman, "whose word was his bond".
