Note: ety. Carrington Simpson stated he was drafted in 1814 a soldier and marched in a company commanded by Captain Berfoot for a term of 6 months and was stationed at Camp Holley, near Richmond. Carrington Simpson stated he was the son of Judge C. of VA ( his last name could of been Carrington) , from whom I took my given name, he states in this artical. Carrington Simpson born August 10th, 1782 in the county of Chesterfield, State of VA, about 12 miles from Manchester, near the coal pits, where I lived until about the year 1818, when I removed to the county of Rockingham, in the State of North Carolina. I remained at this place about 10 years, when I removed to Green County, KY, in the year 1828, and settled some 7 or 8 miles south-west of Greensburg, where I have resided ever since. My mother's name was Jenny Simpson. She was never married. Carrington Simpson died Sept 21,1841 (a tradigic story), Carrington Simpson was the last man to be legally hung in Green County. He is buried in a field alone on land that he owned located across the road from Oak Grove Church, which is also on Grab Road. Carrington Simpson married Dicey Powell May 31,1811, they had 10 children: Winston born abt 1814 married Lucinda Arnett on Jun 26, 1833; Martha Ann Elizabeth born 1815 died 1901 married John Greer Judd on Oct 25, 1831; William J. born Aug 1818 died aft 1900 married Ann Meadows on Dec 19,1838; Mary born 1820 married Alfred Friers on Aug 12,1835; James born 1821 died April 6, 1904 married Margaret Kinney on Feb 15,1849; Elijah born abt 1824 died April 1, 1894 married Scela Gentry (aka Celia); Harriet born 1829 died Aug 5,1918 married Andrew Druin (or spelled Druien,Drewan,Drewin; (the original french spelling and writing of Druin was with a dotted "e" or and un-dotted "i"); George born abt 1830 married Mary Williams on March 15, 1852; John Jackson born Jan 8, 1831 died Jan 7,1914 married Martha Ward on Oct 20, 1859; Frances born 1836 married Francis Marr
