a. Note:   COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 01/05/2008 - PAYNEVILLE MATTINGLY - Elizabeth Roberta, 89, died Thursday, January 3, 2008, at Britthaven Rehab Center, in Louisville. She was born December 17, 1918, in Meade County, the daughter of Ed and Ada Clark. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi Catholic Church. Mrs. Mattingly was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Lee Mattingly; two sisters, Lena Hill and Earle McCoy; two brothers, Edwin and Robert Clark; and a granddaughter, Leisa Ann Greenwell. She is survived by three children, Mary Lena Hardesty (Benny) of Brandenburg, KY, Lamar Mattingly (Nola), of Louisville, KY and Herbert L. Mattingly Jr. (Judy), of Big Spring, KY; one sister, Clara Ernst, of Louisville, KY; one brother, George Clark, of Webster, KY; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 8 a.m. on Saturday at Hager Funeral Home, Brandenburg. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Arthritis Foundation.
