a. Note:   Cecele Bernis
  Mrs. Cecele Bernis, who with her late husband, Pete Bernis, owned and operated the Franco-American Bakery in Reno for many years, died Sunday in a local nursing home. Mrs, Bernis was born in France, May 9 1887. She came to Reno from her birthplace in 1907 and one year later was married to Johnny Echante. He died in 1920. She married Bernis in 1926. He died in 1950. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Madeline Bemont of Sparks and Mrs. Alice Miguel of Santa Cruz, Calif,; two sons, Albert Echante of Sparks and Buster Echante of Reno; seven grandchildren, one great - grandson, and a sister, Mrs Marie Echante of Santa Cruz. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Wisdom Church with Rev. Leo McFadden clergyman. Burial will be in Our Mother of Sorrows Cemetery.
