Note: DiRicco History by Iolanda Cosci-Prentice One Brother, Bartolomeo, was older than my Grandmother Teresa. My Grandmo ther was from Cappanori and she moved to Lammari when she married my Grand father Iacopo Diricco. The last name Micheli is an adopted name as s he is descended from the nobility. Her Grandfather was the Count Ronccio ni from Cappanori and the family villa, still stands today and is kn ow as "The Villa Ronccioni ". The Count however enjoyed the good life t oo much and lost the family fortune on wine, fast women and slow horse s. He sold his title, property and name to pay off his debts and adopt ed the name Micheli. My grandmother worked for many years in the fields at harvest time a nd as a domestic the rest of the year. She would travel with my grandfath er periodically to France where he worked in the salt mines and she wou ld work as a domestic. Two of their children, Esterina and Armando were b orn during their French trips. Guerino was however born in Italy. Her brother had four children. He lived all of his life in Italy with h is wife and children and taking care of his father after the death of my g reat grandmother. Two of his children came to America. Bartolomeo (Bar t) lived with us for many years. He met his wife Ines and moved to San Br uno, Ca. They had one daughter, Linda. Maria came to Sparks where she met and married Alfredo Matteoni and they h ad two sons, Silvano and Louis. They still live in Sparks. My nana was a very small woman only 4'3".
