Note: Charles Mulea Charles F. Mulea, 86, of Throop, died Sunday at VNA Hospice at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Sophie Nosak. Born in Scranton Jan. 23 1928, son of the late Salvatore and Lucia Mulea, he lived in Throop for the past 63 years. Charlie worked at R.F. Post and Jones Motors before retirement. He was a member of St. Anthony and Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop. He was also a member of the Holy Name Society and formerly involved with the Throop Boosters. He was retired as a volunteer firefighter in Throop. Charlie enjoyed cooking with his wife, and had many signature dishes that his grandchildren requested often. He would often be seen shopping for groceries at Price Chopper in Dunmore. He was very caring of his family and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand. He will be deeply missed at every family gathering. He is also survived by three daughters, Marlene Muto and husband, Nick, Clarks Summit; Marie Mulea and companion, Bill Nassar, Throop; and Laura Chrzan and husband, Jeff, Hamlin; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Tony and Thomas; and two sisters, Josephine and Francie. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 215 Rebecca St., Throop.
