a. Note:   ROSE TURNER
  Rose Turner, 86, passed away June 26, 2016. Rose was born Feb. 15, 1930, in South Dakota. She grew up in Nampa, Idaho, and graduated from the College of Idaho, where she was honored as an outstanding student. Rose married Earl Turner and the military in North Pole, Alaska, then spent the next decade moving from one U.S. Air Force base to the next until settling in the late 60's in Las Vegas. Rose completed her master's degree before becoming a librarian for the Clark County School District. She began working at Walter Bracken Elementary and ended her career at Variety School. Travel, volunteering and time spent with her five grandchildren kept Rose busy since retiring. Rose is survived by her daughter, Shana Marek; her son, Monty Turner; and five grandchildren. Memorial to celebrate Rose's life will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, at University United Methodist Church, 4412 S. Maryland Parkway.
