  Nettie was reported as born in Broken Kettle, Dakota Territory. Actually Broken Kettle is found in Iowa on the Big Sioux River which separated Iowa and Dakota Territory. The Dakota Territory area is a finger of land running south toward Sioux City IA. It's wedged between Nebraska and Iowa. So being born in Dakota Territory at Broken Kettle would appear to be land west of and across the river from Broken Kettle Iowa. Broken Kettle had a Post Office and might be the only town in that area in 1870's. I bridge was also located at Broken Kettle. History has the Wade's moving to Iowa, Dakota Territory, and then too Nebraska. History has John Wade in Sioux City records. Sioux City was not far from Broken Kettle, IA and the Dakota Territory.
