He was bornSeptember 15, 1920in Madison County, TN, the seventh of nine childrenborn toMinnie Lee Piercey and John Robert (Jack) Williford. He wasthegrandson of Lewis and Melinda Goodrich Piercey and JohnRandolphand Martha Nelson Williford.He graduated with honors fromMedina High School in 1940, serveda total of 7 years in the Air Forcewith the 34th Air DepotGroup. During WWII, he served in North Africa,Sicily, andItaly. He was a mason, Commander of American LegionPickett Post#21, Jonesboro, AR and retired from Crane Company,Jonesboro,AR. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Medina, TN andwasmarried to Doris Parrett November 11, 1945 in Medina, TN.He waspreceded in death by his parents, and all his siblings:infant brother,and brothers Howard, Marwen, Marcus, Thurman(Tom) and sistersBernice, Maxine and Emogene: a daughter Sherry Charlene Williford ofMedina and a grandson Jacob BarrettWillifordof Nacogdoches, Texas.Heis survived by his wife of 63 years Doris Parrett, son James BrinnWilliford and wife Sherry, grandson Joshua Brinn and granddaughterSarah Lynn all of Nacogdoches, TX, and several nieces andnephews.Visitation with the family will be today from 4 to 7 P.M. atthe funeral home.The family may also be contacted atdoris337@bellsouth.net

Mr. Williford died Dec. 21, 2008, atJackson Madison County General Hospital. Born Sept. 15, 1920, inMadison County, Tenn., he was the son of John Robert (Jack) and MinnieLee Piercey Williford. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having servedduring WWII. He was retired from Crane Company, Jonesboro, Ark., andwas a member of First Baptist Church, Medina.
