Note: During World War II Cousin Lucas was on two ships that were sunk. The Indianapolis lost most men in the water with sharks in an eating frenzy. Another destroyer was hit by torpedo. Lucas and his brother Thomas were in many of the same naval battles, but never saw each other for over three years.
