a. Note:   Godmother was Maria Eva Magdalena Kamppin nee Wunsch. Confirmation Sponsor was Christina Kamppin.
  Christoph & Magdalena Neff and their family left with the second group of emigrants. They left Rineck on 11th May 1850, and embarked at Mannheim on 13th May 1850, left K�ln (Cologne) by train to Antwerp and from there sailed on the ship 'Roscoe' for New York City on 15th May 1850. Father Mathias Volk, pastor of Sankt Georg Kirche (Saint George's Roman Catholic Church) in Rittersbach, accompanied this group as far as Antwerp. To the emigrants were handed 24 gulden to every head of a household, and to each family member and each independent person was given 10 gulden and left to their own fate.
  May have also had sons, James and John, born in Philadelphia.
