Note: "Alexander Waymire, a son of Valentine and Elizabeth Waymire, is a native of Montgomery County, Ohio, born February 15, 1816. While a youth, his father removed to North Carolina, where he farmed for a time, but returned to Ohio, and afterward came to this county in 1827. Here our subject was married, August 26, 1838, to Louisa Marlow, daughter of George Edith Marlow, of this township. The union was crowned with four children, one of whom was made a prisoner in the late war, and confined in the Andersonville stockade, where he died in 1864.j
About 1866, he suffered a loss of about $2,000 by fire, from which, however, by diligence, he soon recovered. Another and greater affliction was the loss of his wife, who died February 7, 1871. Soon after he married a lady of Independence, where he now resides, having rented his farm of 212 acres to his son, the revenue of which is sufficient for his support. Mr. and Mrs. Waymire are members of the United Brethren Church, and are very generally esteemed." - Counties of Warren, Benton, Jasper and Newton, Indiana, 1883, page 188
