Note: The Call Leader: 22 May 1936 NETTIE HARTING DIES IN HOSPITAL Well Known Woman Succumbs This Morning After Illness of Six Weeks Mrs. Nettie Harting 66, widow of John Harting, residing three miles east and two and one-half miles north of the city, died at 10:10 o'clock at the Mercy Hospital this morning of a complication of ailments after an illness of six weeks. She was the daughter of Owen and Sarah Jarrett and was born near Elwood Sept. 15, 1869. She was united in marriage to John Harting March 25, 1889, he died October 22, 1931. The decease had resided in this community all her life and was held in high esteem by all who enjoyed her acquaintance. She was a member of the Christian Church. Surviving are three children: Mrs. Daniel mcDermitt, Kenneth and Ray Harting, all living northeast of the city, one foster daughter, Mrs. Hazel House southwest of the city, two sisters Mrs. Minnie Greenlee, Joplin, Mo., and one brother Schuyler Jarrett living northeast of the city. The body was removed to the Copher and Fesler Funeral Home and will be taken to the family home this evening. Funeral services will be conducted at the East Main Street Christian Church Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock with pastor Rev. V. Hayes Miller in charge assisted by Rev. Polly Couch Bowman. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
