Note: Elwood Call Leader 18 Sep 1916 Elwood,Madison Co.,Indiana MRS. EARLYWINE DEAD "Good Woman Answered Summons At Home In West Elwood" Mrs.Lulu V. Earlywine, wife of Ora Earlywine died at her home in west Elwood Sunday afternoon at 3:15 o'clock of heart trouble and other complications. She had been in ill health for sometime and her brave efforts to regain health were the admiration of all who knew this good woman. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nealy Waymire and had spent all her life in this community where she made a wide circle of friends who regret to learn of her death. She is survived by the husband and one son Virgil,a bright lad of 13 years, five brothers and three sisters. The husband who is employed in a lamp chimney factory at Tulsa,Oklahoma was notified that her illness had taken a change for the worse and he left at once for home but was unable to reach this city before life ended. He is expected to reach the city this evening. The arrangement for the funeral will not be completed until his arrival and announcement will be made in this paper tomorrow, she was a devoted member of the Saints Church and a good Christian woman. 19 SEP 1916: The funeral of the late Mrs.Lulu V. Earlywine will be held at the West Elwood Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev John High of Curtisville in charge. Interment will follow in the Elwood Cemetery. The husband of the deceased had been working in Oklahoma and who failed to reach here in time to bid his wife farewell arrived in Elwood last evening and he is heartbroken over his heavy loss.
