Note: Robert "Bob" Gene Waymire, 93, Gas City, met his Lord and Savior at 10:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, 2015, in his home. Bob was born in Elwood, Indiana, to the late Lee and Susanna (Gifford) Waymire. He married Jean Olsen on May 25, 1987, and she survives. Bob served in the U.S. Army from July 1942 to October 1945 during World War II in Northern France and Germany. He had achieved the rank of Tec 4. Following his years in the military, he worked as a welder at Delco Remy in Anderson, and retired after 43 years of service. He was a member of Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church in Marion. In addition to his loving wife, Bob is survived by his children, Jarrel (Janice) Waymire, Elwood, Dennis (Patricia) Waymire, Lakeland, Florida, Stephen (Becky) Waymire, Bonita Springs, Florida, Linda (Mark) Murphy, Chelsea, Michigan, Cynthia (Mark) Merritt, Washington Court House, Ohio, and Shirley (Clyde) McLerran, Williamston, North Carolina; step-children, David Olsen, Paul Olsen, and Claudia Ferguson, all from Gas City, and Kevin Olsen, Aberdeen, South Dakota; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends; and special caregiver, Brent Ferguson. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were his first wife, Eleanor, and sisters, Edna, Mildred, and Wilma. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, April 9, 2015, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Chapel Pike Wesleyan Church, 2171 W. Chapel Pike, Marion, Indiana 46952. A celebration of Bob's life will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastors Steve Colter, Dennis Waymire, and Mark Murphy officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park, 1920 S.
