Note: Waymire, Earl D. August 26, 2003 Earl D. Waymire, 86, Frankton, died Aug. 24, 2003 at St. John's Hospital after an extended illness. A lifelong resident of Frankton, he was born Feb. 25, 1917 in Madison County. He retired from Guide Lamp in 1974 after 39 years of service and was a World War II veteran serving in the C-B I Theatre in Burma. He was a 50 year member of the Frankton American Legion, U.A.W. 663, attended Frankton United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 62 years Mary (Beck) Waymire of Frankton; daughter and son-in-law Diane and Gerald Swinford; granddaughter Shelly Meier, all of Indianapolis; niece Toni Campbell of Alexandria; nephew Tom Waymire of Florida. He was preceded in death by brothers Dr. Ray Waymire, Bob Waymire; parents Frank and Bessie (McDaniel) Waymire. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wed. Aug. 27 at Harper & Dunnichay Funeral Home, 305 Sigler St., Frankton, with Rev. Al Covell officiating. Burial will follow in the K. of P. & I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Frankton, with military graveside rites. Visitation will be on Tues. Aug. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
