  Jerry M. Waymire went home to be with his Heavenly Father Mach 8, 2010, in Modesto, Calif., surrounded by his family.
  He was born Sept. 7, 1941, to Noah and Ellen Smith Waymire in Lonoke County, Ark.
  Jerry graduated from Cabot High School, Cabot, Ark., in 1959. Dr. Jerry Waymire attended the Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Ark., and earned his Doctorate in Theology, at California Missionary Baptist Institute of Bellflower, Calif., where he also taught Greek and Hebrew. He was an avid pilot, and was a flight instructor at Modesto Airport. He was also a sheriff's deputy for over a decade. Most importantly he was a faithful servant of the Lord, having served as pastor of many churches. He was pastor of Airport Missionary Baptist Church in Modesto, Calif., at the time of his death.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Edward Waymire, CWO Billy Joe Waymire, a helicopter pilot killed in Vietnam.
  He is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Kuza Waymire, whom he married May 31, 1969; one daughter, Lisa Waymire Dunmire (James) Escondido, Calif.; two sons, Nathan Waymire, Tracy, Calif., and Philip Waymire, Modesto, Calif., three grandsons, David, Samuel and Joshua Dunmire, Escondido, Calif.; sister, June Waymire Pruitt (Hulon) Benton, Ark.; brothers, Marlon Waymire (Peggy) Jacksonville, Ark., Bob Waymire (Barbara) Alexander, Ark., Jim Waymire (Lynn), Vacaville, Calif.; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
  Burial was in Modesto, Calif., Wednesday, March 10, 2010, with a Memorial Celebration Service at Airport Missionary Church on Saturday, March 13, 2010.
