a. Note:   MUNCIE � Alva L. �Buck� Waymire, 83, died Nov. 29, 2005, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis, following a sudden illness.
  He was born in Alexandria, the son of Ora J. and Tressie D. Carver Waymire. He attended schools in that area, came to the Parker City area where he graduated from Parker City High School in 1943, and spent most of his life in this area.
  During World War II, he served with the Army in Germany and received a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
  Buck was employed for more than 20 years with Chevrolet-Muncie prior to his retirement in 1984. He also farmed the Airport Farm from 1952 until 1966 north of Muncie.
  For more than 46 years, he and his wife traveled and enjoyed camping and was a member of Mar-Brook Camp Grounds for 25 years. He was also a former member of Sam�s Camping Club.
  Surviving are his wife of more than 60 years, Velma Ruth Thurston Waymire; four children, Rita Greenwalt (husband, Paul) of Gaston, Gene Waymire, Elwood, and Rea Waymire and Mary Curts, both of Muncie; six grandchildren, Doug Pullins (wife, Sheryl) Middletown, Chad Curts, Hendersonville, Tenn., Amanda Curts, Muncie, Allen Greenwalt, Gaston, and Charles and Katie Waymire; a great-grandson, Austin Pullins; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Travis, Chadd and Britney Tyler; his sister, Jeannie Evans (husband, Ralph) Anderson; his brother, Bob Waymire, (wife, Betty) Alexandria, and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
  Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Grace Baptist Church, 6401 River Road, with the Rev. Collins Glenn officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.
  Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory from 3 until 8 p.m. today or at the church one hour prior to service time on Saturday.
