Notes
a. Note:   N250 Obituary of Hannah (WHITAKER) McPHERSON from Richmond Wayne County, Indiana) Palladium; "At the residence of her son-in-law, Nathan Jones, in Cambridge City, Indiana, on Sunday evening, August 18, 1872, Hannah McPHERSON, aged 71 years. The deceased, with her husband, Alexander McPHERSON, were formerly residents of this city, but a number of years ago moved to New Paris, Ohio, where he died 14 years ago. Since her husband's death she has been most of the time an invalid. Though her home was still in New Paris, she spent her time mainly in visiting with her children. Her winters were spent with her daughter, Mary Jones at Cambridge City. She has been for a great many years a consistent member of the Methodist church, - one of those whose daily life adorned her profession, who in her long years of affliction never repined, but saw the "silver lining" beyond the clouds; and to the enquiries of her friends she always replied: "I am only waiting," with a cheerful christian faith that was beautiful to behold. And with a perfect realization of her condition and a peaceful resignation her spirit, freed from its suffering tenement, calmly took its flight on that beautiful Sabbath evening, to join her beloved husband and children in that home that her Saviour had prepared for whose who are faithful. Her remains were taken to New Paris, and on the 20th to Whitewater, by a company of loving friends, and deposited in the family burial ground. Richmond, September, 1872"
