a. Note:   N7161 Ellis was the son of Ira Spaulding and Matilda Ellis. His paternal grandparents were Jonas Spaulding and Susannah Simonds.
  Jonas Spaulding was born in Ispwich, New Hampshire and died in Norton, Ohio. He moved Cornish, New Hampshire, then to Waitsfield, Vermont then on to Delaware, Ohio in about 1830.
  Ellis first married Emma Schneck on 18 November 1852. He then married Margaret Jones on 20 November 1876. Margaret was born 6 January 1841 in Ohio. She was the daughter of Anthony Jones and Margaret Fry.
  In 1900 Ellis and Margaret were living alone in Berkshire, Township, Delaware County, Ohio. Ellis was a farmer. In 1910 Ellis is widowed and living with his daughter, Mary Spaulding Silverwood in Troy, Delaware County.
