  William McPherson & Wife This Indenture made the thirteenth day of September in the year of our Lord one thousand Deed To eight hundred and fifty one, Between William Joseph Shannon McPherson of the township of Union County of Union and State of Pennsylvania and Lovina his wife of the first part, and Joseph Shannon of the township, County and State aforesaid of the second part. Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars lawful money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, released and confirmed,and by these presents Doth grant, bargain, sell, release and confirm unto the said party ofthe second part, his heirs and assigns, all that certain all his right, title and interest whichis the undivided half part thereof, in a certain tract of land situate in Union Township, Union County, adjoining lands of Joshua Shurton late William Gibbons, William Brownheirs and others, containing sixty acres more or less. It being the same tract of land which was sold as the property of Joseph Farrin, and by virtue of a writ of venditioni ex-ponus issued out of the court of Common Pleas of Union County, Pennsylvania, bearingdate the eighth day of August A.D. 1849, did on the 19th day of September A.D. 1840.Sell to William McPherson the present grantor and Joseph Shannon as by reference to said Deed duly acknowledged in open court on the 27th day of September A.D. 1849 will at large appear. Together with all and singular the buildings, hereditaments, and appurtenances Thereunto belonging, and the remainders and revisions, rents, issues and profits thereof; To have and to hold the premises hereby granted, with the appurtenances unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to the use of said party of the second part, his heirs an assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, & their heirs, the premises hereby granted, with the appurtenances, against all and every person or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof, by from or under them or any of them to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns. Shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. She the said Lovina being of full age and by one separately and apart from her husband examined and the contents ofsaid indenture being by one fully made known to her, on her said private examination, she declared that she voluntarily and of her own free will and accord and without and coercion or compulsion on the part of her husband did sign, seal and execute the same.
