a. Note:   N114 John Crist was born Nov. 21, 1795 in Northumberland, PA. He married his 2nd wife, Mary Ann Smally in Franklin Co, IN on Oct 2 1822. He had about 5 children with Mary. John died April 28, 1869 in Franklin Co, IN and I am told he is buried in the Lutheran Cem on Brookville, Franklin Co, IN.
  His father Adam Christ was born about 1757. He lived in Berks Co, PA and was married to Elizabeth Fullmer. Adam was in the Rev. War. I have that he died 1808 in PA. Diane
  John Crist was married for the 1st time in Northumberland, PA. They had at least three children. After his 1st wife died, their daughter was left with family of John's 1st wife and John and his two sons John and George walked all the way to Franklin Co, Indiana. He married again, to Mary Ann Smalley. When he heard that his father Adam had died John walked all the way back to Northumberland, PA. When he got there he found that the estate had been settled and he was left with nothing. He walked all the way back home to Franklin Co, Indiana with nothing to show for his time. At a later date, the daughter he had left with his 1st wife's family came to visit. It is written that she received a very cool reception by John's 2nd wife Mary Ann and their children.
