a. Note:   N522 David Steele Petition To he honorable the Judges of the Court of Common Pleas of Union To prove contract with County at September Term 1832. The petition of David Steele of the John McPherson dec'd. Township of Union County of Union aforesaid respectfully represents that John McPherson late of the Township of Union County of Union and State of Pennsylvania Esquire deceased in his lifetime to wit about the first day of June Anno Domino eighteen hundred and eighteen or nineteen was seized in his demands as of fees of and in the following mentioned and described lot or piece of ground situate in Union Township Union County aforesaid bounded and described as follows to wit beginning at a post on the great road leading from Lewisburg to Selinsgrove on a line of land of Abraham Eyer and the said John McPherson dec'd thence by land of the said Abraham Eyer dec'd. South fifty seven degrees, West fourteen perches to a stone, thence by land of the said John McPherson South thirty three degrees East twenty and three tenths perches to a stone, North fifty seven degrees East twelve perches to a stone North twenty-three degrees West twelve perches and seven-tenths to the place of beginning containing one acre strict measure. That being so thereof seized the said John McPherson did by a parcel contract on the same day and year aforesaid contracted for the sale of the premises aforesaid unto; your petitioner in fee simple that by the condition of the said parcel contract your petitioner was to give and pay to, the said John McPherson forty Dollars, and build a house on the said lot in consideration of which payment to and improvements the aforesaid John McPherson was to make and deliver unto, your petitioner a regular and legal Deed of the premises aforesaid, that your petitioner in pursuance of the said parcel contract did build the said house and is ready and willing to pay the purchase money if it is not already paid but that no sufficient provisions has been made in his lifetime of the said John McPherson for the performance of the said contract, your petitioner therefore prays this honorable court to grant him leave to produce proof of the due execution of the said contract on his part in order to the completing of his title according to the act of assembly in such case made and provided David Steele Union County lot Charles Kremer on oath administered according to law that some time about the year A.D. 1818 or 19 he was present when John McPherson and David Steele mentioned in the within petition,contracted for the sale of the said lot of ground by their agreement David Steele was to have an acre of ground on the Lewisburg Selinsgrove road, that said Steele was to go and build a house on said lot he did not hear the price. That the said Steele in the same year did build a house on said lot and it has been considered and reputed the property of said David Steele ever since Charles Cramer, sworn subscribed in open court Sept 18 A.D. 1832 J Stilwell Union County St. John McPherson on oath declared that he heard the above named John McPherson his father about the year A.D.1821 say that he intended to charge him forty Dollars for the above lot of ground John McPherson Junior subscribed in open court Sept 18 A.D. 1832 J. Stilwell endorsement Sept Term 1832 Petition of David Steele to prove contract parcel to John McPherson Sept 18,1832 trust Pleas Court, appoints the present lines for the hearing the proof & on hearing the witnesses, court adjudges the proof before present & to be recorded agreeably is the act of assembly.
